2pm – 4pm – Steve Dryden In the Afternoon
Steve plays quite a diverse range of music on his afternoon show. All of which has quite a modern feel with a lot of emphasis on post 20’s popular chart music but, there are always the classics and throw backs from the late 70’s onwards. You’ll always find plenty of banter and some great competitions thrown into the mix as well. Steve’s motto, all the way through his broadcast career, is that he only ever plays the music he himself likes. This philosophy always seems to have served him well as he always has a good following of listeners. He also likes to vary the format of his shows so that they’re always a little different. He also likes to throw in some weird and wonderful tracks that have been lost in the ether! Steve believes his show is much more than the normal day to day chart music show that you can hear anywhere. And we totally agree. He likes to throw his personality and character into it so people can get to know who he is rather than just a voice over the radio

8PM – 10PM – The Rock Show with Steve (The Prince of Darkness)
Steve has been a fan of rock and metal all his life. The son of a Brass Bandsman, he’s always had music around and been appreciative of classical music. At the age of 15, he started learning classical guitar and has never looked back. At his classical guitar lessons, he was frequently heard twanging out lead breaks from Metallica and iron Maiden with his tutor telling him to concentrate on the classics, not this jungle music! 40 years later, he is still playing in bands and doing lots of home recordings! His love of rock and metal stems from his fascination with dark and minor chord progressions and he’s had a lot of experience in producing rock-based audio magazines and in radio broadcasting.
Steve’s rock and metal show is a showcase of the most incredible music around. With everything from Country Rock to Gothic Metal, Symphonic rock to Grunge, there is always something in each show for everyone. Again though, his motto applies, he’ll never play anything that he doesn’t himself like. So, you’ll never really hear that deep throated growl that so much of the more modern metal seems to produce. There are, however, always some exceptions!
So please come and check out the Prince of Darkness. He can promise you a musical experience you won’t forget and a ride on the metal carousel that, you’ll need to hold on to for dear life!
